Ontario Line South project
Atlas interferometry has been successfully applied to derive deformation measurements over the Toronto City Centre and especially, focusing on a buffer of 750 meters at each side of the alignment in the Ontario Line South Project area. The AOI of the project covers >15 km2. The Atlas InSAR Baseline Study has been done followed by a monitoring that is still ongoing.
Key study outcomes
- The study generates a series of accumulated deformation maps in LOS, together with time series graphs illustrating significant deformation trends at different locations across the AOI.
- To improve the level of detail and facilitate the interpretation of measurement points, the study area was divided into four distinct sections.
- The resulting dataset contains > 350.000 measurement points. High densities of points were obtained over urban areas and infrastructure, while lower densities were generally observed in vegetated zones and areas where the ground or assets experienced surface changes during the study period. Although most of the AOI remains stable, the Atlas InSAR high-resolution Baseline Study identified and measured different types of ground movement.
